Email Platform Upgrade

Project Background & Scope

The client managed approximately 15,000 mailboxes worldwide using a legacy email system. To enhance reliability and integration capabilities, they decided to transition to an on-premises Microsoft Exchange environment.

Project Outcome

The existing system lacked fault tolerance, prompting the design of a more resilient platform. The new solution featured a multi-server, RAID-based backend and a redundant email hub to ensure high availability.
Email migration was executed seamlessly through scheduled nightly batches. Prior to each migration, users received training, and a dedicated service desk was established to provide post-migration support and resolve any issues quickly.

Support operations were divided into two functional areas: server-side (backend) and user-facing helpdesk (frontend). Detailed interface definitions and staff training ensured smooth collaboration between the two.
Additionally, comprehensive new training materials were developed and distributed to users.

Benefits to the Client
  • Reduced operational costs, as the platform was now running on software that were scalable and redundant

  • Improved user satisfaction, as the new system was easier to use.

  • Simplified integration with Microsoft Office and third-party applications
